JAZZ VESPERS, SUNDAY JUNE 16 @ 4PM

JAZZ VESPERS AT ST. JAMES ~ Sunday June 16 at 4 pm featuring Stacie McGregor (piano), John Veretta (drums), Chris Gale (sax), Alison Young (sax),  Mike Malone (trumpet)  & the usual suspect (bass). Come celebrate Jim’s last Sunday as Rector of St. James and enjoy some great jazz  interspersed  with  readings and prayers. Refreshments will be available following the music.

RICHARD BIRNEY-SMITH RECITAL

Richard Birney-Smith has been invited by his classmates at Trinity College, Hartford, to play a major organ recital for their 50th class reunion in June.  Dr. Birney-Smith, organist-choirmaster of this parish from 1967 until 1976, will perform that recital programme here at St. James on Friday, May 31st at 8 o’clock.  The programme will include Bach’s Passacaglia & Fugue in C minor and César Franck’s Chorale #2 in B minor as well as pieces by Richard Felciano, Gerald Near, Clarence Watters, and Charles Marie Widor.  All proceeds will go to benefit the music programme at St. James’.  Admission is $20 at the door.
