MUSICA ST JAMES’ is a concert series founded in 2008 to celebrate the installation of a new pipe organ at St. James’: it presents four concerts per year featuring local and international artists in one of Dundas’ most intimate and acoustically beautiful spaces.

Amazing Grace : A Celebration of Hymns to Hear and Sing

Acclaimed Canadian Bass-Baritone Daniel Lichti and James Mason, Principal Oboe of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, join St. James’ Director of Music Christopher Dawes for an evening filled with songs of praise and thanksgiving. These wonderful musicians share the inspiring power and soothing beauty of 19th century hymns and spirituals, and invite you to raise your voice along with them.

Join us for an evening of masterpieces for flute, cello, and piano with extraordinary local musicians Shoshana Telner, Kirk Starkey, and Sara Traficante. A tour of brilliant chamber music written originally for this infrequently heard, but stunning instrument combination, including works by Bolshulav Martinu, Norman Dello Joio, and Carl Maria von Weber.

Making their Musica St. James debut, we welcome the John Laing Singers under the dynamic new leadership of Artistic Director Roger Bergs. Come and hear Hamilton’s premiere chamber choir in the intimate acoustic of St. James. The JLS has received widespread acclaim for its tours, recordings, and broadcasts since 1982.

A Time of Gifts : A Pentecost Celebration
The Parish Choir and Soloists of St. James Anglican Church ~ Christopher Dawes, Director
A festive choral celebration of the feast of Pentecost honouring the glorious 5-centuries old English Cathedral tradition of Evening Prayer. St. James’ Parish Choir and soloists and Director of Music Christopher Dawes lead this feast of beautiful choral music of Stanford and Elgar, and your singing of the great hymns of the Church’s birth.
Admission for this event is free of charge. A freewill offering in support of the musical ministries of St. James Anglican Church, Dundas, will be gratefully accepted.
