TEENS ~ GRAVITY CLIMBING GYM

We’ve journeyed through Lent and moved through all the lows and highs of Holy Week, too! Youth ages 12 and up are now invited to join us for a few more lows and highs, while rock-climbing!  We’ll meet at Gravity Climbing Gym @ 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 20th for two hours of fun with well-trained assistant who will respect what you’re willing to try – or not!  Directions to this event can be found here or in the drop-box outside of the church office.  Car-pooling is encouraged.  Be sure to let us know if you need a ride!  Please note that a waiver for every person under 18 must be signed by a parent or guardian in advance and produced upon arrival.  These are issued by Gravity and different from forms you may have filled out in the past for Elizabeth.  The cost of this event is $10.00 per person but please don’t let worries about money keep you from enjoying the fun.  Speak to Elizabeth and plan to join us.  Friends are welcome but Gravity’s waiver and one for the church found here must be filled out in advance.  Please note that you must RSVP by April 15th for this event.  We hope to see you there  Questions?  Contact Elizabeth through the church office @ 905-627-1424 or by e-mail @ elizabethstjames@bellnet.ca.

LIVING WITH TOXINS TALK

This event is organized by EcoWHam and takes place at St. James on April 19th @ 7:30 PM.  Join speaker Margaret MacDonald from Environmental Defence to learn about chemicals we are exposed to every day and how to avoid the cumulative effects on your health.  Free refreshments.  Contact the office at 905-627-1424 for further details.

Join us on Sunday, April 21st @ 4:00 PM for this month’s all-ages service as we play with the idea of “Holy Ground”.  We’ll enjoy some great music, a presentation by Grant Linney (with The Climate Reality Project), activities for the kids, and a pot-luck meal to follow.  Bring your bike, trike, or anything else that helps you move through life in earth-friendly ways!  Contact the office @ 905-627-1424 for further details and be sure to bring your bell!

April 21st is the last day to order Good Food Boxes.  April 26th is Good Food Boxes packing / collection day.

Join us on Wednesday, April 24th @ 7:00 PM in the parlour having read all (or just some of …) Alistair MacLeod’s No Great Mischief.  Secure your own copy or contact the church office to see if we have any available to loan out. “God made people because God loves stories”.  If you love a good story, join us!

WORK-DAY @ THE DONKEY SANCTUARY

Friends ages 8 and up are invited to join us on Saturday, April 27th for a few hours of hard work for some delightful donkeys at The Donkey Sanctuary, in Puslinch.  We have a limited number of spots available for this event and will meet at the church at a pre-determined time to car-pool there.  This day will not involve care of the donkeys and is devoted to preparing the grounds for this organization’s upcoming season of educational tours.  The cost of this event is free but you must RSVP to Elizabeth @ elizabethstjames@bellnet.ca by April 15th and submit some paper-work in advance.  We hope you’ll join us!

FIRST THINGS FIRST” HIKEdesert

Join us for our next “First Things First” outing @ 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 14th for an all-ages hike at the Royal Botanical Gardens.  Dress appropriately for the weather and plan  to meet us on time at the entrance off York Road, in Dundas.  The cost of this event is free but do bring some money in case it’s needed for parking.  Plan to find parking and meet us in time for 2:00 PM in the parking lot and let us know if you’re needing a ride!  Directions can be found and printed off here or picked up in the drop-box outside the church office.  If the weather looks questionable, call the church office  at 905-627-1424 or check back here.  If you don’t hear or see otherwise, the event is still on.  We hope to see you there … along with some signs of spring!

JAZZ VESPERS

Join us on Sunday, April 14th @ 4:00 PM for some great jazz interspersed with readings and prayers followed by refreshments.  Mike Malone on trumpet, Stacie McGregor on piano, Ted Warren on drums & the usual suspect on bass.
