PARISH PICNIC is on June 25th. Please bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Burgers and Hotdogs will be served, bring a salad or dessert to add to the feast. Worship begins at 10:30 followed by food and games.

SOARING SPIRIT POW WOW ~ The TRC committee urges you to attend the Soaring Spirit Pow Wow at Gage Park this Saturday and Sunday.

FAMINE RELIEF ~ This week the Canadian government announced it will match funds donated for famine relief in Africa and the Middle East. For every dollar donated to PWRDF’s Famine Relief appeal from March 17 to June 30, 2017, the government will put $1 into its Famine Relief Fund. According to PWRDF more than $140,000 has already been donated since its appeal was first announced. SUMMER CAMP ~ We are once again gathering funds to send children to Canterbury Hills. Please make cheques payable to “St. James Anglican Church” attn: camp fund. This is the final week for camp donations, thanks!

MEALS ON WHEELS could use a couple more deliverers once a month on Thursday mornings – it isn’t a long job (less that 90 mins.) but very worthwhile. If you are just able to fill in for emergencies that would also help.  

NEXT WEEK & BEYOND:

GAMES AFTERNOON first & third Monday afternoons of the month at 1:30 pm. Next up is June  19.

BODY & SOUL has planned an outing to Weir’s Lane Lavender and Apiary Farm for Tuesday June 20. Please meet at the church parking lot at 10am to car pool. All are welcome. Regular programming starts back up in September.

KNIT GROUP meets every Wednesday at 1:30 and runs through the summer. New members are always welcome.

GOOD FOOD BOX DAY is Friday June 23rd.

YOUTH GROUP ~ Ages 9+ will meet this Friday June 23, 6:30-8:30pm. Drop off is at Websters Falls parking lot for games, and a walk to the peak and down to meet in the park on Livingstone for pick-up. Bring your friends! Call Jean at 905-467-0062 for more info.

MEN’S SPIRITUALITY GROUP usually meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 7.00 – 8.30 pm. Next meeting is June 27. Last meeting until September. New members are welcome.

HEALING GROUP ~ Come for fellowship, blessing and healing prayers. All welcome: 4th Tuesday of the month. Next session is June 27th at 7pm in the church (side chapel). Please note there will be no healing group for July and August. For information 905-526-0523,  or seefossilart@hotmail.com.

EfM CANADA is starting up again on September 11, 2017 (7-9pm). Please register by mid-July. Contact 289-238-9289.

OUR SUPPORT HELPED!! ~ In April, 1,018 households accessed food through the two St. Matthew’s House food banks. That included 2,476 people, 919 of whom were children. Warmest thanks to everyone who remembered to bring in a can a week to the table in the narthex and to others who brought in loads at a time. Those contributions of food in cans, boxes​ and packages amounted to 821 pounds in April. WOW! ​​NOW, let’s push for 900 lbs in June. Can we do this?…and the people replied, “YES, we can!”

SYRIAN NEWCOMERS are interested in casual work such as landscaping, moving assistance and house cleaning.

USED POSTAGE STAMPS have value as they are sold by the Leprosy Mission to raise funds for treatment of that terrible condition.  Let us keep collecting them.

DUNDAS COMMUNITY SERVICES AGM ~ TONIGHT! Thursday June 16, 7:30 pm at Dundas Town Hall, Council Chambers, 60 Main St. Dundas Agenda: Brief Business, Report to Community, Volunteer Recognition. Refreshments will be served after the meeting.

iPad 101 WORKSHOP ~ Dundas Community Services is hosting a 6 week workshop on iPad 101.  Explore and get more from your iPad.  Learn to use settings, email, internet, photos, calendar, contacts, noted, facetime, skype, SIRI, voice to text, facebook, icloud, imessage, eReading, find my iPad and much more. The course will take place on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 until Wednesday, July 26, 2017, Jewish Social Services, 30 King Street East, Dundas.  The fee for this course is $55.00. ROUTES YOUTH EMPLOYMENT AND BABYSITTING COURSE PROGRAMS are now open for the summer. We are ready to assist both students and employers in the surrounding area. Some of the services we offer include: Youth Employment Services Program for Employers, Youth Employment Services Program for Students 14 – 19, Youth Employment Services Program re: Job Skills Support & Routes Youth Centre Babysitting Course.
