St. Paul’s United and St. James Anglican Dialogue Update– Both St. Paul’s and St. James have a long history in this valley resulting in our sharing many similarities. Our congregation sizes are the same, we both use formal outlines for our worship, we have intermarried and have many friends in the other congregation, and we share the same heart for mission; together we were instrumental in getting Routes and Community Services started and we both continue to reach out to help those in the community and beyond. As a result, the group who has been meeting to explore our commonality have realized that instead of offering the same programs and events in two location it would be prudent to see if holding a program or event in one facility and extending an invitation to the other congregation might be a more fruitful and effect way to do ministry. For example, we have just extended an invitation to the people of St. Paul’s to attend our upcoming seminar on Medically Assisted Death.  At this point in time that is how we envision fulfilling the request by our National Churches head offices to work together.
