EARTH DAY

earthday2The Green Team would like to remind everyone that April 22nd is the official Earth Day but because of Easter the Anglican Church is celebrating Earth Sunday on April 28thPlease remember to treat the Earth a little more kindly during this time.  Maybe take a walk to pick up garbage.  Have a week not using any single-use plastic items.  Scatter some seeds and make a pollinator garden.  Check the city web site for the new recycling rules for blue and green bin https://www.hamilton.ca/garbage-recycling

Stand still and breathe in the beautiful air that we are fortunate to have in the Dundas Valley.

Reminder! Dumpster Newsclean-up-clipart-11

The dumpster will be dropped off at St. James the week following Easter (April 22 -29). The big push to “fill” it with all of our collected junk will be Saturday April 27th, starting at 10.00 am. If you are able-bodied, or have family who can help, we would really appreciate you coming. There is much “stuff” to move from in the church, on the stage and in the basement. Many hands will make light work! Remember to bring your work gloves. For more information contact Lil at 905-627-3140

BRING A CAN OF FOOD each week when you come to church on Sunday to put on the table in the Narthex for St. Matthew’s House.  If even half of us did that, there would be fifty or so cans a week! WOW!

CAMP FUND -It is time to gather funds to send children to camp-last year we supported 5 children to attend-the stories of these children’s experiences is heart warming!  To make a donation make your cheque payable to St James  and put “for the camp fund” on the memo line.  Questions call 905-627-1424

REMINDER to bring in your used eye and sun glasses.  Please deposit them in the container on the table in the narthex.  Once restored, they are used on medical missions abroad.  Used postage stamps continue to be sent to the Leprosy Mission in Toronto where they are sold to raise money for treatment of Leprosy.

THANK YOU everyone for your generous donations for the refugee family.  We are now well stocked in supplies.  The one thing we would greatly benefit from is storage space-if anyone has an empty garage or space let up know.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated ~ The Refugee Team
