SUGGESTED NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION!!  Establish a habit of bringing in a CAN OF FOOD each week when you come to church on Sunday to put on the table in the Narthex for St. Matthew’s House.  If even half of us did that, there would be fifty or so cans a week! WOW! Can we do that?

BILL 66 – A group from our church attended a meeting at Knox Tuesday night explaining what BILL 66 was about.  If you care that the Government is trying to change the rules on the uses of the Green belt, then please feel free to pick up an information sheet from the table in the Narthex which will give you ideas on how to contact people to express your displeasure.

THE “JILL AWARD” is given at the Annual Meeting to someone who exemplifies service and also mentors others. Nomination sheets are in the narthex, or please speak to Peter Davison or one of the wardens.

GOOD FOOD BOXES will be Friday ready January 25th.  Please let the office know if you want a box. 905-627-1424. Pick up at the Salvation Army at 11 a.m. $18 a box.

ANNUAL REPORTS FOR 2018 – Reports are due this month. Please have them in by Sunday, January 27th. Thank you even more if you get them in earlier!

9TH ANNUAL WINTER COAT AND BOOT DRIVE – WINTER COATS and BOOTS are coming in!  More expected as the weather gets colder and need greater! Please bring in ONLY winter coats and boots for men women and children.  Gloves and mitts for men also needed. REMINDER:  Contributions to the COAT AND BOOT DRIVE are much appreciated but PLEASE leave them ONLY at the back of the stage in the Dundas Room.  Thank you!

Before our new incumbent arrives in the parish, the Corporation would like to do a major cleanup around the church building. The initial undertaking will be a building ‘walk through’ on Saturday February 2nd, at 10:00am, to establish what can be disposed of, and what needs to be retained.

The wardens invite anyone,  who stores ‘goods’ at the church in cupboards,  rooms or on the stage to come on February 2nd to indicate to us what can  be disposed of, and what is important to you to keep.

This is an opportunity for everyone to ‘spring clean’!

Once we establish how much ‘junk’ there is to dispose of, a skip of appropriate size will be ordered, and another Saturday set aside for the actual disposal of all identified ‘junk’.

Once the skip is ordered, we will then need many able bodied, younger persons to help with its loading. If you don’t come out on February 2nd, and identify your treasures, some goods of importance to you may disappear!!!

For more info on this important task, please talk to or call Lil, on behalf of St. James’ Wardens team, at 905 627 1424.
