Meet our October Artist:
Toni Major
I am a professional textile artist. I learned to sew as a young girl and taught sewing and quilting classes as an adult. My passion for the arts led to decades of pottery, painting, quilting and textile arts.
Inspired by natural settings, I embrace texture, colour and movement, “painting” with fabric and thread, also making use of paint, inks and embellishments.
My work has been exhibited in many shows, some having travelled throughout Canada, Europe and the USA.
I am honoured to have a juried art quilt in the permanent collection at the National Quilt Museum in Kentucky, USA.
Art Gallery + Concert Space
The arts have been a long-held, integral, and energizing source of passion at St. James.
Each month, we feature a visual artist in the Art Gallery at St. James located in our brightly lit sanctuary.
We have a passion for music, and proudly host organ recitals and other special concerts in the same space.
