SERVICES AND GATHERINGS THIS WEEK

SUNDAY, April 27th – 10:00am – 2nd Sunday in Easter. It’s also EARTH DAY!

Tuesday Evening Prayer

The Tuesday evening prayer group has evolved.

We are now meeting in a hybrid format. You are welcome to join on Tuesday evening at 6:15 in the parlour at St. James, or through Zoom at the same time. If you would like to join via Zoom,

please email the office by 4pm

to receive the Zoom meeting link.

The meeting is a combination of prayer and discussion of either a devotional or a passage from scripture. We look forward to welcoming you.

WEDNESDAY – COMPLINE – 9:15 p.m. Compline is a short service of night prayer. The heart of Compline is the recitation of several psalms. There is a short reading from scripture, intercession, and time for reflection. It is a beautiful way to close out an active day. Compline is offered by St. James’ through Facebook to bring the community together. If you cannot join live, the service is available afterwards on St. James’ Facebook channel.

MONDAY AFTERNOON GAMES – First and third Monday of the month from 1.30-4pm, in the Parlour. Everyone is invited to participate.

The Knitting group meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 1:30 in the St. James Church parlour. All are welcome!

Food and hygiene donations to support St. Matthew’s House are being collected over the next two weeks. Items can be left in the white tower in the narthex.

Afterthoughts

… An invitation to reflect further and share your experience of Sunday Liturgy with others.

You are invited to join a conversation that will provide you with an opportunity to reflect further and share with others your experience of that Sunday’s Liturgy. This will be a focused conversation sharing what impacted you during the service whether it be through music, readings, homily, prayers or eucharist.

The purpose of this gathering is to support awareness of our spiritual lives and continued growth by sharing our personal reflections and listening to the reflections of others. It is an opportunity to be in community in a new, exciting and intentional way.

This gathering and conversation will take place on the 4th Sunday of every month beginning April 27th, 2025 (July and August excluded) from 11:15 am to 12:30 pm. The regular meeting place for this gathering will be the church parlour; however, on April 27th we will meet in the sanctuary. Ann our parish deacon will be the facilitator.
